Prelude: Betrayal

Let's have a conversation, you and I.

Let's talk about betrayal.

From the outside, it might look like I turned my back on my Inner Circle teammates. It might look like I betrayed them.

No. They betrayed me. Kid Dynamo did it when he lost my tag team titles. Trent did it when he stopped me from hurting Lorenzo. I don't care if Lorenzo deserved it or not. I don't care if it was the "smart" thing to do. Dynamo tagged himself in and robbed me of glory. So yeah, I punched him in the mouth. Then Trent stabbed me in the back when he struck me.

I'm so tired of your meddling Trent. So very tired. There are so many people I could have removed from the equation by now if you didn't stick your nose into things. Dynamo. Redemption. Lorenzo. I could have changed the playing field completely and become so close to completing my goal. The one person, the only person, that I thought would understand has undermined me every step of the way.

Trent Steel betrayed JC. Let's make that real clear right now. This is your fault, Trent. So now you have to face the consequences.

You remember consequences, right? Consequences are what put Shaun Stewart in the hospital. Consequences are what dismantled the Violent Society.

But I don't want to hurt you, Trent. I want to teach you. I want to open your eyes and force you to see. See the world as I see it. Understand that I'm trying to save you. I'm trying to save all of you from yourselves. My work must continue because my work is just. My work is pure. Only through the OWF's destruction can it truly be saved.

Because I'm tired of being persecuted for my beliefs. I'm tired of being portrayed as a villain when I am the only sane man in an insane world. I need you to see. I need you to learn.

So in order to teach you a lesson, I'm going to show you once again how my brand of violence can solve all of your problems.

As I understand it, you've had quite the history with your nephew Sebastian. He crippled Dude Job, he made your life a living hell and he's just a slimy little prick that needs to have some respect bashed into his skull.

Allow me to be your hammer.

Sebastian Steel is the bad guy. It's something he's made perfectly clear from day one. I've got a question, Sebastian. What happens when a "bad guy" meets a worse one? For all the things you've done to Trent, that's child's play compared to what I've done to, well, name the superstar. I hospitalized Moxie Roxie. I bludgeoned Nick Perry until he was a bloody mess. I crippled Shaun Stewart.

And now I'm going to break Steel.

You don't seem to care about wins or losses, just as long as you make someone's day miserable. I find that downright depressing. You wonder about aimlessly through life, experiencing no joy except that you made someone's day a little less tolerable.

That's all you really do around here. You're an annoyance. An inconvenience. You're the OWF's bed bug infestation. Is that really what you want to be? The fly in the soup of life? If you don't have any ambition, that's fine with me. Just don't be upset when you're scooped out with a spoon and the rest of us keep eating as if you were never there.

Sebastian, you are so beneath me that normally I wouldn't even entertain the thought of taking you out. Why bother? What could I do to you that your own career isn't already doing? When your biggest win is against CokeMoney and you willingly pal around with a perennial loser like Zodiac, a savage beating from the OWF's savior almost seems like a mercy.

I've discovered since I've arrived that I cannot be harmed. My mission can't be stopped, only delayed. And the time for delays is over. The OWF's salvation is almost here.

Because I am the savior, Sebastian.

I am the Answer.

I am the way.

I will not turn a blind eye to you. I will save you just as I will everyone else. All you need to do is ask.

The only way you can be taken to the promised land is to take my hand and repent for your misguided sins. Repent and I will save you. Those who believe in me shall not be hospitalized but be granted immortality in the wrestling paradise I will create.

Don't you want to join me in paradise, Sebastian? Just take my hand. It's waiting for you.

Can't you see it?

It's beautiful.
